Trust & Safety

How OtherDays works to maintain a safe and reliable marketplace for office space

Identity Verification

Before hosts can publish a self-serve listing, they must be verified. Guests must be verified before they can book. Verification means:

  • Email verification
  • Phone number verification
  • Payment method on file
  • Stripe Connect onboarding

What verification means: This user has confirmed email and phone, and connected Stripe. Verification helps confirm users are real but does not guarantee behavior or safety.

Listing completeness checks

When hosts publish, our system confirms the listing is complete. Early listings also come from confirmed tenants in our network. We do not physically inspect offices.

  • Required information is complete
  • Address is within New York City
  • At least one photo is included
  • Availability is specified
  • Availability is specified

Trust Tiers

Users build trust over time through positive behavior on the platform:

Unverified(no badge)

Email, phone, or Stripe setup is not complete. Hosts can save drafts but cannot publish self-serve listings. Guests cannot request bookings.

Verified

Confirmed email, confirmed phone, and Stripe connected. Required for hosts to publish and for guests to book.

Trusted

Five or more completed bookings, at most one cancellation, and no Stripe payment disputes

Enforcement

We actively monitor and enforce platform policies. Actions we may take include:

  • Unpublishing listings that violate our terms
  • Suspending users for policy violations
  • Banning users for serious or repeated violations
  • Investigating and mediating disputes between users

Important Disclaimer

OtherDays uses identity verification, automated checks, and ongoing monitoring to help maintain a high-quality marketplace. However, verification helps confirm users are real but does not guarantee behavior or safety.

Trust & Safety FAQ

Verification, listing checks, and how we handle issues.

What does “verified” mean on OtherDays?
Verified users have confirmed their email and phone, and connected Stripe. Self-serve listings require a verified host. Guests must be verified to book. Verification helps confirm users are real but does not guarantee behavior or safety.
Does OtherDays inspect every office?
No. We confirm the host is verified and that required listing details (including at least one photo and a New York City address) are complete. OtherDays does not independently inspect spaces. Guests should review listing details and communicate with hosts before committing.
What happens if someone violates platform policies?
We may unpublish listings, suspend or ban accounts, and investigate disputes. Serious or repeated violations are escalated. Report concerns via in-product tools or support@otherdays.com.
How do trust tiers work?
Verified means confirmed email, phone, and Stripe. Trusted is a separate track-record badge: five or more completed bookings, at most one cancellation, and no Stripe payment disputes. Dashboard booking reports do not change the Trusted badge.
